Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge

The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is located in Denver Colorado. It is great place to go for a relaxing walk, hike and do photography. In this wild refuge you can watch wild animals, migratory and predatory birds. In the list of birds you can see there are: falcons, Canadian birds, ducks, geese, swans, cranes, herons, owls, pelicans, vultures, buzzards, golden and bald eagles. The main attraction and easy to see within 30 minutes, are the Prairie dogs, Deer, Bison and Black-footed Ferret.

The refuge has a 11 mile Wildlife Drive in your vehicle, a 10 mile walking trails, and the total land surface is 23.5 square miles. Click on the link to see the map, Trail and Wildlife Drive Map. The refuge has a few creeks and ponds, a big area to see wildlife and is a perfect spot for a great time with the family and friends. Bring your bicycle, hiking or comfortable tennis shoes, a hat, photo or video camera, powerful viewing scope, a jacket, snacks and water. You will need these items for a nicer experience. If you like hiking, nature and a relaxing place, the Wildlife Refuge is the right place to be.
