The advancement equation of technology
Our knowledge and technology have advanced throughout the years rapidly and promise to benefit humanity but, there are also side effects to this growth. Job displacement, unsustainable lifestyle, heavy work load for parents, and inadequate social systems for individual growth, support and development, are among some of our current social issues.
To avoid a social and economy collapse our leaders must improve our social support systems, establish ethical and corruption prevention rules and policies, change infrastructure and budget allocations, and make new laws. These matters must be addressed to keep our society running well and prosperous.
As humans improve on technological advances, we set the rules for benefits or negative effects in our current and future lives. Human nature keep us looking for improvements in ourselves, and make things that can make our lives easier, more efficient or more fun. All these changes have pros and cons as an inherit consequence of any change.
Our main goal of progress should always be to set the benefits higher than negative effects. We must manage well our way of living and thinking to make the right changes in our government. This will guide us to set the right control to keep our society running properly and efficiently.
The end goal is to minimize damages by implementing better support systems in our society infrastructure. We need a better and more efficient Education, Mental, Childcare, Healthcare, Universal Income, Career and Job placement systems. The need to transform our society’s infrastructure for a better model is critical to help people adapt, learn faster and perform better in everyday tasks. We need to be able to compete, survive and remain humans in our current ever-competing transhumanistic societies.
Current technological advances
Here are some of the current technological advances.
1. Bio Chips. Micro-chips with synthetic cells, bio wires and transmitters are being engineered as technology gets more advanced.
2. Making fusion energy not fission energy is on the works. This breakthrough will give us unlimited, less costly, less contaminating or polluting energy source. The goal is to produce energy from none radioactive hydrogen liquid from water vs enriched radioactive uranium material. This seems like a win – win clean and limitless energy source solution!
3. Development and mass production of electric cars, planes, trucks, drones and transportation vehicles.
4. Development and productions of super very fast quantum computers. 1quantum computer with 50 to 100 qubits is faster than all our current super computers.
5. Bio-tech implants and bionic limbs for the deaf, blind, mute and paraplegic.
6. A HIV vaccine is about to be tested on a big project test group for final assessment and production. Clinical trials for 3 years in what is needed to make it readily available for everyone.
7. 3D-bioprinted replacements organs such as: hearts, kidneys, thyroid glad, an tibia are being developed, made and transplanted in candidate patients.
8. Development and infrastructure for Neura link connection to connect our brains to cyborg devices, computers or the internet. This breakthrough will allow us to seamlessly control anything and learn faster. (Neutra link)
9. Artificial intelligence research and development. This programming and algorithm coding project will allow us to get research, find answers and control our devices faster and better. Something that can take us decades to develop, A.I can do it in a fraction of time. This multi- autonomous intelligent system can be path to a better life and survival of humanity. (OpenAI, DataRobot, Narrative Science, CognitiveScale and more.)
10. Developing genetic engineered cells that make meat. Real meat has been made successfully in the lab already. (Maple Leaf, Perfect Day)
11. Development and production of artificial organs to repair humans with genetic engineering and bio-technology. Currently artificial hearts have been transplanted on patients. (dsagg )
12. Deployment and use of an mass orbital satellite network. StarLink is currently establishing a network of satellites to provide global wireless network. This wireless network will have 12,000 satellites on earth’s orbit, providing 50Gb data rate for an affordable price around the world. (Star Link)
13. Solar and wind power is available at a reasonable cost to homes and companies for supplemental or backup green energy. This plan is gradually eliminating our need for coal or nuclear power. Eventually changing to fusion, solar, wind and renewable energy sources only, for a cleaner and safer environment. (Sunrun, Vivint Solar, Sunnova. SunPower. SolarCity (Tesla Energy)
14. New space rockets are being developed to go to take humans and cargo to the international space station, the moon, mars and beyond, (SpaceX, Boing, Blue Origins, etc.)
15. Genetic engineering is being used in animals, plants and people, to bring innovation, breakthroughs and improve our lives.
A. Cloned animals.
1. Carp! An Asian carp was successfully cloned in 1963 and a mere decade later Tong Dizhou also cloned a European crucian carp.
2. Dolly the Sheep.
3. Cumulina the Mouse.
4. Noto and Kaga (Cows)
5. Mira the Goat.
6. Family of Pigs: Millie, Alexis, Christa, Dotcom, and Carrel.
7. Ombretta the Mouflon.
8. Tetra the Rhesus Monkey, and much more.
B. Modified vegetables, fruits and seeds.
1. Cherry tomatoes have come a long way to be in our tables. They were tasteless and had no shelf life. A few years of research and breeding past until Israelis were able to breed them into a domesticated crop. Is now that we can enjoy them in our salads and delicious dishes. They change their color from yellow to red, made them taste better and sweeter.
2. Some wild fruits have been modified for better texture and taste such as: watermelons, bananas, eggplants, carrots, corn and peaches.
3. We find now varieties of apples, peaches, corn and others with shinny color, with varieties of colors, and with more sweeter taste.
4. Developing seeds disease, herbicides and pesticides resistant. This way plants can grow faster, well in harsh environments, and using less chemicals to avoid pests. (Corn, soybeans, cotton and Canola (for oil), squash, and papaya, beans, apples, etc.).
C. Genetic engineered humans.
1. The gene CCR5 of two Chinese female embryos’ DNA has been modified. These two girls were born in China on October 2018. The gene modification trials in mice proved to make them HIV immune, improved brain recovery after stroke, and increased the ability to be smarter. The two girls are babies now. We will see if the gene modification actually worked or not in the coming years.
2. Steam Cells. A stem cell is one that divides, replicates and has the ability to remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a unique specialized function. These cells can be found in the body, as muscle cell, organs cells, a brain cell or a red blood cell. These cells can be made in a controlled environment and used to repair humans tissue, organs and other important cells.
Breakthroughs are revolutionizing our life but with a double sword edge.
Human technology is getting faster, better and smarter. It is only time to see all these changes.
There are many prodigies, brilliant entrepreneurs, corporations, individual scientists and the government, that are trying to get technology that can be beneficial to them and/or to all of us.
We all should think about this reality. Life can get better, but also harder. Millions of people can lose their jobs and be displaced due to robotics automation in all areas of life.
We have to request or propose our law lawmakers, (the government), to make an Universal Income System (UIS) and to improve our current support systems. An UIS can help us live in an automated society and to avoid degrading our lifestyle and not perish.
A proper UIS, economic and industrial infrastructure and advanced education system, can allow all of us to develop ourselves into engineers, scientists, or high specialized individualists. We could use our time to learn more, develop higher, have time for fun and art, and to become an advanced understanding and conscious species.
If we don’t implement the right supporting systems for us to grow and become valuable in a society with A.I and robots, then we must go into higher debts to acquire higher education and shorten our goals to a minimum.
Things like having a wedding or a child may not be affordable anymore. We may not have the time to achieve this goals, due to our continuous struggle to survive and compete with A.I and robots. The current government infrastructure agenda and the education system is not setup to help humans overcome this mass unprecedented unemployment situation.
We all should work on solutions to care, improve and sustain our societies or our life will be a nightmare not joy.
Get informed, raise awareness, share useful information, change your life path taking in consideration getting higher education, several types of income, (earning, capital and passive), and come out with a good plan to be able to live and survive in the future. This is our current faith until we all make the right changes.
The law, “Survival of the fittest” has been in place since the beginning of the formation of biological organisms on earth. This took place when they started to form, grow, develop and survive through many years of evolution. Now and in the future with A.I and robotic technology, our lives and survival will be even more challenging… Are you ready?
